Communicating Without Words

This Discussion Board, I would like you to use the information in (copy and paste video link) https://youtu.be/1sfM-xx7tHI?si=HV4G9rY3zh2SPW8r and analyze the body language of someone campaigning for a political office. Find a LIVE speech from the campaign trail. This should be a ″live″ speech that was recorded, NOT a commercial!!, or heavily edited interview for television!!!!. —-The video should be no longer than 6 minutes, and it should be publicly available.—- You may go back through the internet archives to find a speech given by a politician throughout history, but you are being asked to analyze the NON-verbal aspects of this speech, so the video should include more than just the (potential) politician′s face. Do NOT analyze a debate or any speech which includes more than one candidate. You are looking for a ″rally-type″ speech where one person stands with a microphone or bullhorn and others stand around them in some way listening. One way to search is to use the words ″stump″ and ″campaign trail″ in your Google search- as ″stump″ tends to be what people on the campaign trail label the action of using a podium to talk about their beliefs. Here is an example of a stump speech https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arAzykspfRo (Don′t analyze this one) All of the following non-verbal ideas will be present… finding them is your goal! Initial Thread Once you have found the speech, grab your notebook, and turn the volume OFF. Watch the entire speech, but don′t listen to the words. (Don′t watch the captions, either.) Note the speaker′s kinesics haptics proxemics physical appearance artifacts environmental factors You may create your thread with a series of bullet points (each with about a sentence of desсrіption) or you may write a paragraph. You should explain how their non-verbal communication influences your belief about this person. You should note each of the above bullet points by name. For example, if the politician uses short, forceful chopping motions with their hands (kinesics), you might interpret these motions as ″angry″ or ″passionate.″ Describe the motion and describe what it might ″mean.″ Your initial thread should include the link to the YouTube (or Venmo) video and your analysis of the non-verbal communication.
